Oh yes, I'm back. Much has happened, there will doubtless be rambling and incohesive updates. I'll start with these:

I got my first negative review for A Twist In Time! YAY ME! Of course it doesn't mean as much as all the good ones (being posted on ff.net and all) but it's always nice to know someone has been touched in a bad way by one's Art, dahling. Here it is:

Tiger Lantern,

The following review has been submitted to: A Twist In Time Chapter: 4

From: sickened ()
-------------------

thats what  i am, this is an abomination. you will pay.
-------------------

I wrote something that is considered an abomination! OMFG I'm so chuffed! (UK expression of pleased pride)

Whom, what, and how I'm supposed to pay is yet to be revealed by the anonymous 'sickened ()' - and is that meant to be a hug after the word 'sickened'? Maybe because they managed to resist the nausea until the end of Chapter 4?

It's enough to make a girl want to write more Ron on Ron.

In other news, the 'a' key on my laptop is slowly failing. Please ignore 'a' related typos...

And the mercy seat is calling...

Nick Cave = fucking awesome. Highlights for me:

The Ship Song (of course I cried! Duh);

Papa Won't Leave You, Henry (during which he forgot what verse he was on, and it was still amazing);

Red Right Hand (if I ever do a striptease, it will be to this song);

The Lyre of Orpheus;

Stagger Lee;

and getting a piece of merchandise that I kind of both love and loathe. I may not have Joy Division oven gloves, but I do have a Mercy Seat tea towel.

Tonight is the Fifth Annual Drag Queen Olympics at the Homomonument (not a joke) and tomorrow is Queen's Day (annual celebration of the queen's birthday, entire city dresses in orange and parties like bastards).I am working on both days. I will probably be a complete mess by Thursday. I'll try to get photos.

right, time to shower and get to work.

an oh so brief and unsatisfactory update.

Booyah, we found a new house. It's in the Bijlmer, but a good part of the Bijlmer. You can judge how bad the Bijlmer used to be by the fact that when Nederfolk ask me where I'm moving, and I sing "In the Bijlmer" to the tune of "In the Ghetto", they roll about laughing.

The house will be awesome once we've finished decorating and made minor repairs, so sometime next year by a rough estimate. I'm a bit worried that I may have made a mistake painting the kitchen terracotta and metallic gold, but I think once I add the holographic gold glitter detailing and the animal skulls it will be okay.

Work is funny and stressful and challenging and a right laugh most of the time.

Tomorrow night I'm going to see Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds at the Heineken Music Hall. *runs in circles screaming with excitement*

I haven't written anything for the fest I signed up for when I was feeling all creative a few months ago. Nevertheless, I am casting around hopeful glances for a beta, and hoping that the muse is up for a writing bender later tonight. Anyone? Anyone?

*sound of crickets*

I'm in a lurking mood rather than a posting one, to be honest.

So here's chapter six. Do me a favour and read the warnings and disclaimer at the beginning of chapter five, please? Thanks a million <3

and more fic.

I will post all the rest of this today. Hopefully.

Warnings/Disclaimer: Smut, slash, unbeta'd. Know why? Know why? Because I am J.K. Rowling, I am, I tell you! Get off me! This is what really happened, this is what I meant to write, only the publishers wouldn't allow it- I said get off - and despite being a multimillionaire with access to at least half the world's media and billions of people interested in my work, I'm choosing to present this actual excerpt of the unpublished 9th book on an obscure journal read by almost six people! Get that needle away from me, I'm J. K. Rowlingggaaahhhh......

Ok, I'm not really. But I should have mentioned before that some lines are directly from DH, because I am not totally averse to canon. (Honestly I'm not sure if there are any in this chapter, but they do crop up somewhere).

Knackered, knackered I tell you.

Nothing like a 50 hour working week in 4 days, whilst smoking unfeasible amounts of weed and hash. I do have photos but I'm still working on resizing them.

Chapter 7 of A Twist In Time is half written, but RL is getting in the way. RL and (whatever this is) collided in a most wonderful way tonight during a two hour phone conversation with </a></strong></a>[info]nishizono. We are teh evil, darling, and I love you.

Right, here's Chapter Three.

Last night I smoked Jack Herer. With Jack Herer.

The Cannabis Cup 2007 has begun.

If that means nothing to you, I almost envy you right now.

It's the busiest time of year for my industry. I will give details later with photos, and by later I mean probably next week sometime, when things will have calmed down a bit.

In the meantime, here's Chapter 2 of A Twist In Time.

So, I finally moved. Farewell LiveJournal, I shall return and post occasionally as I have old friends on my f-list who are disinterested in fanfic but enjoy updates on my mundane real life.

Hello InsaneJournal, with your rather crazed random mascot who announced 'can I haz cheezburger?' as I was creating my account. I took this as a good omen.

I am dissatisfied with the look of this journal but am too tired for further pratting about with it.

Friendly greetings, folks I have friended. And a slightly premature HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to the fabulous nishizono. Love you darling, have a fabulous day <3

And that's about it for now.

Oh- and here's the first chapter of A Twist In Time, my 'practise' fanfic which pushed me to making the leap here, purely on principle.

DIRE WARNINGS:Ron/Harry. Unbeta'd. Smut (begins mildly). Spoilers for just about everything but especially Deathly Hallows. Ron/Harry. I know, but I thought I'd repeat it as it squicks some people. W.I.P. Teenage girls on ff.net love it, bless 'em.

So the Dutch government is banning the sale and use of magic mushrooms. *claps slowly*

cut for length and (designer!) drug references )
What's needed is more information, actually there needs to be a kind of force feeding of information until everybody who is thinking of taking mushrooms knows what that entails and how to do it safely and responsibly. How the force feeding is to be applied, I have no idea. I'm very sure though that making them illegal isn't going to help.

I've started training with M. There's a lot of counting involved. Excellent, as I am able to count. The uber manager informed me that they're expecting my lack of flexiblity with working hours to be compensated for by my attention to detail and efficiency. Excellent, as I am able to be picky, pedantic and anal.

Things are going better between Quinn and me. Despite the shiny, black, does-it-hatch-out-into-Knightrider-like appearance of a PS3 in our living room a couple of days ago. His offering to pay a good chunk towards The Bike Of My Dreams the day before he bought it was purely coincidental and not in any way a cynical move on his part to soften me up. Yay! And have I mentioned, I am so in love with this bike I was pressing my nose up against the shop window. The link picture doesn't do it justice.

Right, more later.
